Awards for good packaging design

PIDA is a prestigious packaging design competition that Korsnäs runs in partnerships with universities in France, Germany and Sweden.

PIDA is integrated in the educational programme and gives design students an opportunity to display their work to a larger audience and demonstrate their skills to potential employers.

Brief 2012

”Anything but square”
– Challenge the formability of Korsnäs White and create a package that is not square

The shelves in the store are full of them. Packages with different colours, sizes and with sophisticated, visual applications and graphics trying to catch the consumer’s eye and sending the message “It is me you should buy”.  But most of them are square or rectangular in shape, irrespective of product and/or brand name.

We would like to change that and to challenge the creativity and imagination when formulating the assignment for PIDA 2012.

The challenge for 2012

The assignment for PIDA 2012 is challenging the creativity and the imagination in creating a package that is not square or rectangular. The shape of the package should be used to strengthen the brand identity, create shelf impact and be functional in terms of handling and protecting the content.

The material is Korsnäs White, any grammage. Projects having other materials as a vital part of the package will not be accepted.
