This enables us to survey environmental protection needs in different parts of the forest, and to draw up plans for doing the work and balancing wood harvesting with environmental protection activities.
Every region in Korsnäs’ area of operations has its own landscape plan. Each of these is typically subdivided into smaller areas in which natural conditions make particular environmental protection measures appropriate. Such measures may include increasing the percentage of hardwood trees, increasing the amount of deadwood and, in the long run, increasing the percentage of old-growth forest.
