Statutory requirements are in effect for these materials to protect human health and to prevent the material from altering the taste, smell or composition of the food. All Korsnäs products meet the legal requirement in effect for each market and application.

To ensure product safety, the entire chain from raw material to finished product is carefully managed and monitored. For example, Korsnäs has a risk assessment system to ensure that chemicals used to manufacture paper or board meet requirements before they can be purchased.

Both finished products and parts in the process are monitored regularly, in part through self-monitoring and in part using external laboratories.
