Korsnäs White 320 gsm cartonboard has proved to be the ideal material for the Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisp chocolates cartons.
The eye-catching octagonal shaped base and lid style carton is machine erected and hand packed demanding a cleanly formed base and lid which can be fitted together with packed product at speed. It is essential that the pack components make up cleanly and without distortion on the carton erecting machines. Previously used materials suffered from twisting and misalignment making it difficult to place lid onto base correctly and slowing down the packing operation. However, by changing to Korsnäs White with its long and flexible bleached fibres and multi-layer construction, Elizabeth Shaw has now found the ideal material to achieve excellent formability, maximum production efficiency on the filling line and a clean and neatly shaped pack on the shelf to ensure eye-catching appeal for the consumer.
Elizabeth Shaw also required an excellent print surface to achieve
the required decorative finish on the packs giving high shelf impact and consumer awareness. The range features embossing, spot varnishing and gold foil blocking as well as a windowed aperture to show off the cleverly presented individual mint crisps. Korsnäs White performs exceptionally well in meeting all of these demands for a top quality luxury package, whilst providing the strength and security to protect the product. Elizabeth Shaw have been delighted with the results in terms of line efficiencies, pack performance and ultimately increased sales and consumer satisfaction. Malachy McReynolds, MD of Elizabeth Shaw, commented "The relaunch of our iconic octagonal box offered us the opportunity to upgrade the quality of the material and the printing– Korsnäs White gave us the perfect platform to deliver all the improvements we were looking for in the pack."
