In the 2010 Opticom Brand Tracking Survey for Consumer Packaging, the Korsnäs brand emerges as a contender. In three of the most important markets – France, Germany and the UK – Korsnäs ranks among the top brands*.

Korsnäs Gävle has built a new evaporation plant. Korsnäs Gävle has invested a total of SEK 570 M to enhance energy efficiency and cut emissions. The investments mean that oil consumption will decrease by nearly 50 percent and that carbon dioxide emissions will therefore fall by the same amount.

Sales volumes for sheet products in the Cartonboard business area have increased steadily in recent years. At Korsnäs Frövi, we have two machines with a total annual sheeting capacity of 60,000 tonnes, but this is not enough to meet future market needs. For this reason, we have decided to increase capacity in sheeted materials by acquiring a further sheeting machine at Korsnäs Frövi. The investment, totalling SEK 30 million, includes measures affecting existing equipment and premises as well as new machinery.

Today’s customers are aware. They are used to placing personal demands on brands. And they are sensitive to how brands handle their environmental responsibility. A typical tell-tale sign is the packaging. Because packaging is not only about design and function, it’s also about the management of the planet’s resources and the impact on the environment.
